STEPS TO BUILDING AN EFFECTIVE VOLUNTEER PROGRAM ARE OUTLINED, ALONG WITH POINTERS FOR RECRUITMENT, VALUES A GOOD VOLUNTEER PROGRAM CAN OFFER, AND THE KINDS OF REWARDS VOLUNTEERING CAN BRING TO THE VOLUNTEER. WAYS TO HELP STAFF TO ACCEPT VOLUNTEERS, AND VOLUNTEERS' RESPONSIBILITIES AND RIGHTS ARE DISCUSSED. TEN COMMANDMENTS ARE GIVEN FOR WORKING WITH VOLUNTEERS, AND TIME MANAGEMENT IS CONSIDERED. ADVERTISEMENTS FOR VOLUNTEERS THAT CAN BE USED, JOB DESCRIPTIONS, A SAMPLE REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS, A SAMPLE VOLUNTEER INTERVIEW FORMAT, AND SAMPLE VOLUNTEER REGULATIONS ARE FURNISHED.
