Activities of the Virginia Criminal Justice Services Commission are reported for the year 1977.
Abstract
The commission's thrust is in three main areas: providing rules and regulations to upgrade criminal justice officers through training, research, and development; promulgating rules and regulations for training private security services business personnel, and issuing rules regulating the collection and security maintenance of criminal history record information. Six mandated training programs are described, as are private security training standards. Included under specialized/advanced training programs is the Third Annual Training Directors Conference. Rules and regulations concerning the handling, collection, storage, and dissemination of criminal history record information were formulated and adopted by the commission on September 15, 1977. The commission's funding and resources are summarized. Appended are tables of data concerning attendance and sessions at the three types of training institutions under the commission's auspices.
