Abstract
The book attempts to help men understand the roots of their violence, take responsibility for their actions and move beyond their abusive behavior to lead healthy, loving and nonviolent lives. The book is divided into seven chapters, with selected sub-categories: (1) The Roots of Men's Violence Against Women (the Superman Myth, how our culture encourages violence); (2) The Nature of Violence (violence learned at home and from society, the impact of violence on sexual relationships); (3) It's More Than Just Physical Violence (using intimidation to control, using the children to get to her); (4) Getting Past Denial (taking responsibility, alcohol, drugs and violence); (5) Making Changes and Staying on Track (learning to think positively, handling jealousy, the danger of obsession); (6) Resolving Conflicts: Strengthening Relationships; and (7) Healing.
