Characteristics of Italian-grown cannabis plants, both fiber-type and drug-type, are discussed with reference to their tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content and how genetic and environmental factors may affect THC level.
Abstract
Fiber type has only 0.4 percent THC while drug type has 5 to 10 percent. To avoid the diffusion of drug type, the Commission of European Communities reached an agreement in 1984 to regulate the import of plant and seeds based on THC content. 18 references. (Author abstract modified)
