As the largest criminal justice information clearinghouse in the world, NCJRS provides a broad range of information for the use of criminal justice practitioners as evidenced by the products and services listed in this user guide. Due to increased demand for information on a narrow range of subjects, a group of specialized information clearinghouses have been developed.
Abstract
These clearinghouses are devoted to topics such as AIDS, corrections construction, juvenile justice, statistics, and victims information. Methods for utilizing NCJRS resources are described in detail. The computer data base and electronic bulletin board are reviewed to illustrate the ease with which to obtain information and documents quickly. References and appropriate telephone access numbers are provided. Descriptions of NCJRS publications, audio-visual materials, the library/reading room, and microfiche services are included. Organization support such as conference support and mailing lists is reviewed.
