PROPOSAL FOR TELEMETRIC OBSERVATION OF PAROLEES AND ELECTRONIC INTERVENTION THROUGH DEVICES PLACED IN THEIR BRAINS TO CONTROL SELECTED ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIORS.
Abstract
DEVELOPMENTS DURING THE LAST DECADE IN THE FIELDS OF TELEMETRY AND ELECTRO PHYSIOLOGY ARE REVIEWED AS THEY RELATE TO THE CONTROL OF HUMAN BEHAVIOR. THE AUTHORS CONTEND THAT SEVERAL OF THESE TECHNIQUES SHOULD BE USED IN PAROLE SITUATIONS. THEY CONSIDER ETHICAL OBJECTIONS, BASED ON THE RIGHTS TO PRIVACY AND FREEDOM, AND FIND THEM LACKING. FOR A RESPONSE TO THIS PROPOSAL, WHICH OBJECTS TO IT ON CONSTITUTIONAL GROUNDS, SEE THE USES OF BEHAVIOR CONTROL TECHNOLOGIES A RESPONSE, NCJ-007583.
