Abstract

This brief summarizes the forensic work of National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) to provide consultation, case management, and resource application to authorities on cases of unidentified human remains believed to be juveniles (under 21 years of age). The list of services includes: Analytical Services (public records, proof of life, lead enhancement); Exhumation Assistance Forensic Genetic Genealogy; M-VAC; Biometric Collection (DNA, Dentals, Fingerprints); Facial reconstructions from skeletal remains and soft tissue; Forensic Odontology; Pollen and Soil Analysis; Case Reviews and Evidence Reviews; Fingerprint and latent print examinations; Image and Audio Enhancement; Rapid DNA; Clandestine Grave Search Efforts; Forensic Anthropology; Mapping, Timelines, Link Analysis; and Traditional and forensic DNA technologies.
