The articles contained in this document focus on the issue of resiliency among at-risk children.
Abstract
Professionals working to prevent these children from participating in high-risk behaviors, including delinquency, substance abuse, and dropping out of school, have begun to concentrate on creating environments that will nurture the resiliency -- or ability to overcome the stresses they experience on a daily basis -- within every child. These articles address the contributions that schools, peer programs, and collaboration can make in fostering children's resiliency.
