Abstract
THE KEY LEARNING PROCESS OF THE THERAPEUTIC COMMUNITY IS CONFRONTATION OR OPEN INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS. THE INITIAL PERIOD IS ONE OF TOTALLY RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT, FOLLOWED BY RESIDENCY AND EITHER WORK OR SCHOOL ATTENDANCE. THE FINAL STAGE IS INDEPENDENT LIVING. THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENTER THE TREATMENT PROGRAM CAN BE PROVIDED THROUGH THE JUDGE'S DISCRETION IN SENTENCING. INCLUDED ARE STATISTICS ON ADMISSIONS, RESIDENTS OCCUPATIONS, AND STAFF.
