This report presents a plan and implementation strategies for an anti-drug program in Indiana covering areas of prevention, workplace and treatment, and justice.
Abstract
The prevention section covers public awareness, community prevention, and school based initiatives. The second section addresses employee assistance programs at private and public workplaces and development of drug treatment programs with a focus on early intervention for all substance abusers including those unable to pay for services. The third section on justice spans law enforcement, prosecution, judication, and corrections. Each section contains one or more broad goals, recommendations, implementation strategies, rationale for the recommendations, cost analysis of implementing the recommendations, a suggested State agency to be responsible for implementation or oversight, and a listing of contributing parties that should be involved. The goal statements are general and long term, whereas the recommendations are more specific and action oriented. To demonstrate the need for collaborative efforts involving public and private sectors, a partial list of contributing parties is included for each recommendation.
