Annotation
In this consumer protection film, one of a series of four based on the situations of an imaginary family, Grandma is enticed by an advetisement that promises her riches for decorating and selling pepper-shakers by mail.
Abstract
The film shows the attraction of the get-rich-quick advertisement, ($100 a week, no experience necessary), Grandma's conversion of her social security check to a money order, and her final disillusionment after she receives a letter from a similar eager investor. Using the slogans 'Before you invest, investigate,' and 'Before you buy, beware,' the film suggests that before Grandma invests next time, she should check the company's reputation.
