              The seven position papers presented in this book will help to shape the future of injury control research, programs, and policies for the decade of the 1990's.
          Abstract
              Objectives of these seven position papers are: to define the field of injury control; to assess the current status of injury control research and programs; to help the Centers for Disease Control, other Federal agencies, and nongovernmental organizations define directions and priorities in a coordinated way; to identify the interventions that should be evaluated and disseminated; to plan for the development of injury control program capacity in State and local health departments as well as other injuries; and to identify organizations and opportunities for conducting various research and implementing program recommendations. 626 references and 5 appendixes
