Abstract
A typology is proposed to clarify abuse of authority as being physical, verbal/psychological, or legal. Each classification is operationalized and related to a causal paradigm. The paradigm proposes an explanation of abusive behavior as a product of the interactive effects of a series defined stressors. In consideration of the causal phenomena differential strategies are presented in a probability model as methodologies to contain abusive incidents. (Publisher abstract)
