DISCUSSION OF FOUR TESTS FOR POLICE COMMUNICATIONS APPLICANTS - A PHYSICAL EXAM, AN ORAL EVALUATION, A WRITTEN EXAM, AND A MANIPULATIVE PERFORMANCE TEST.
Abstract
THE FOUR TESTS ARE EXAMINED, INCLUDING THEIR FORMATS AND POSSIBLE QUESTIONS OR ELEMENTS OF EACH. THE MANIPULATIVE PERFORMANCE TEST, THE AUTHOR NOTES, MAY BE THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, SINCE IT IS DESIGNED TO MEASURE APTITUDES AND ABILITIES THAT CANNOT BE TESTED BY OTHER MEANS AND ARE CRUCIAL TO THE COMMUNICATIONS FUNCTION. A LIST OF SAMPLE QUESTIONS FOR THE ORAL EXAMINATION IS OFFERED, AS ARE SPECIFIC AREAS OF HEALTH AND PHYSIOLOGY THAT SHOULD BE THE FOCUS OF THE PHYSICAL EXAM.
