THE STRATEGY AND TACTICS OF TERRORIST GROUPS FORCE EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES AND NECESSITATE CHANGES IN DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL LAW BY GOVERNMENTS DESIRING TO CURB THE TREND.
Abstract
TERRORISM IS DEFINED IN TERMS OF CURRENT LITERATURE. THE DISRUPTIVE TACTICS OF TERRORISTS ARE SEEN AS ENHANCED THROUGH AMPLIFICATION IN MEDIA COVERAGE. THE EXISTENTIAL ASPECTS OF TERRORISM ARE DISCUSSED AND THE TERRORIST 1S EXAMINED FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF NATIONAL LIBERATION IN WHICH 'ONE MAN'S TERRORIST IS ANOTHER MAN'S FREEDOM FIGHTER'. MEASURES FOR THE PREVENTION OF TERRORISM ARE SUGGESTED; INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION IS SEEN AS A NECESSITY.
