This report details the preparation for the 10th United Nations Congress on the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders and the opinions of individual countries and organizations regarding the agenda for the conference.
Abstract
The organizations and countries that responded to the Secretary-General's 1995 request for opinions expressed general satisfaction with the new format and method of organization of these congresses as forums for the exchange of information and the identification of new trends in crime prevention and criminal justice. The workshops were regarded as the highlight of the ninth congress. Suggestions for the 10th congress focused on organizational aspects, the theme, agenda items, and workshop topics. Preparatory arrangements for the 10th congress have focused on the venue, dates, duration, documentation, format, workshops, ancillary meetings, other sessions, and rules of procedure.
