THE AUTHOR OUTLINES THE APPLICATION OF THE TEAM CONCEPT TO MANAGEMENT OF THE U S DISTRICT COURT PROBATION OFFICE OF ATLANTA, GEORGIA.
Abstract
TEAMS ARE COMPRISED OF TWO PROBATION OFFICERS AND A CLERK STENOGRAPHER, AND TWO TEAMS FUNCTION AS BACKUP UNITS FOR EACH OTHER. SPATIAL ARRANGEMENT REFLECTS THIS ORGANIZATION. INTIMATE FAMILIARITY WITH TEAM ACTIVITIES IS SAID TO GREATLY INCREASE THE IMPORTANCE OF STENOGRAPHERS TO THE DEPARTMENT. THIS APPLICATION OF THE TEAM CONCEPT IS SAID TO PROVIDE FOR INCREASED MOTIVATION AND PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY.
