Abstract
The goal of this textbook is to present the principles of tactical emergency care in conjunction with nationally recognized curriculums and standards for emergency care and pre-hospital education. It is a special blend of pre-hospital care and military-style tactical operations. The book covers wounds from conventional weapons to nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons focusing on the unique problems faced by all tactical EMTs. The book is intended for practitioners of emergency care in the tactical environment, such as first responders, EMTs, paramedics, Army combat medics, Navy and Coast Guard corpsmen, and Air Force medical technicians, as well as students. The book is divided into 13 sections focusing on the primary standard of care found in the tactical environment and encompassing an extensive mix of basic and advanced life support techniques and strategies, as well as introducing some new out-of-hospital approaches.
