Abstract
THE FIRST SECTION SERVES AS AN OVER-VIEW OF BASIC ISSUES RESULTING FROM RESEARCH FOR THE PERIOD OF 1920 TO 1957. IN THIS SECTION SOME BASIC ISSUES PERTAINING TO THE TYPES OF GROUPS EMPLOYED IN RESEARCH, CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION OF RESULTS, GROUP TASKS, AND RESEARCH TECHNIQUES ARE RAISED AND COMMENTED UPON. THE SECOND SECTION PRESENTS A SERIES OF ABSTRACTED STUDIES ON DECISION-MAKING WHICH WERE CONDUCTED DURING THE PERIOD FROM 1957 TO 1963. IN ADDITION, SELECTED STUDIES BEARING ON IMPORTANT DIMENSIONS OF GROUP DECISION-MAKING SUCH AS THE EFFECTS OF INTERPERSONAL INFLUENCE, USE OF POWER, COMMUNICATION NETS AND PERSONALITY ATTRIBUTES ON THE DECISION PRODUCT ARE ALSO INCLUDED (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
