Staff training continues to be a priority concern of correctional personnel. Further, standards and accreditation have underscored the need for inservice training which is both comprehensive and of highest quality.
Abstract
To meet this expanding demand for relevant training, programs to train staff trainers have been developed. Using this concept, this article explores the feasibility of expanding the 'train the trainer' process to include supervisory staff. Preliminary findings on a comparison of training by a supervisor and a certified trainer are presented. Implications for institutional training programs are discussed. (Author abstract)
