Abstract
TOGETHER, THE TWO STUDIES 'TEND TO SHOW THE INCREASE IN THE PROBABILITY OF INVOLVEMENT IN ADULT CRIME AS THE OFFENDER MOVES THROUGH THE REHABILITATIVE INSTITUTIONS. IT IS CONCLUDED THAT THE BEHAVIOR OF SIGNIFICANT NUMBERS OF BOYS WHO BECOME INVOLVED IN ILLEGAL ACTIVITY IS NOT REDIRECTED TOWARD CONVENTIONAL ACTIVITY BY THE INSTITUTIONS CREATED FOR THE PURPOSE.'
