THIS REPORT DESCRIBES THE BACKGROUND AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE CRIME CONTROL ACT AS IT APPLIES TO THE STATE OF MARYLAND.
Abstract
INFORMATION ON THE CRIME CONTROL ACT INCLUDES A LOOK AT THE LEGISLATION AS IT AFFECTS THE MARYLAND GOVERNOR'S COMMISSION, THE COMMISSION'S HISTORY, MAKEUP, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND REGIONAL STRUCTURE. AN EXPLANATION OF THE PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION, AND EVALUATION PROCESSES OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, WHICH COORDINATES ALL STATE CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROGRAMS, IS ALSO OFFERED. THE REPORT FURTHER EXAMINES THE AUDITING SYSTEM AND OUTLINES THE OBJECTIVES AND METHODS OF THE PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE. A DESCRIPTION OF SPECIAL ACTIVITIES OF THE GOVERNOR'S COMMISSION, AS WELL AS FUNDING ACTIVITY PRESENTED IN GRAPH FORM, IS INCLUDED.
