STUDIES OF CASES WHERE TRACK EVIDENCE LED TO THE ARREST AND CONVICTION OF OFFENDERS, WITH A PLEA FOR MORE ATTENTION TO COLLECTING SUCH EVIDENCE, WHICH, THROUGHT NEGLECT, HAS BECOME THE STEPCHILD OF INVESTIGATIVE WORK.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR ASSERTS THAT THE NEGLECT OF TRACK EVIDENCE IS PROBABLY THE RESULT OF THE HECTIC PACE AT WHICH PEOPLE LIVE IN MODERN TIMES. THAT IS, POLICEMEN DO NOT TAKE THE TIME TO ACQUIRE A TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE SUBJECT AND INVESTIGATORS DO NOT TAKE THE TIME TO LOOK FOR TRACKS AT THE SCENE OF A CRIME. PHOTOGRAPHS ARE INCLUDED WHICH SHOW TRACK EVIDENCE USED IN THE WEST GERMAN CASES DESCRIBED. --IN GERMAN
