This report presents statistical information and data on activities of the Los Angeles Police Department for the year 2006.
Abstract
Report highlights include: (1) in 2006, there were a total of 137,097 reported Part I crime and attempts (homicide, forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny, and vehicle theft); (2) Part I crimes declined in 2006 (134,175) from 1997 (206,254); (3) of the total number of Part I offenses, larceny had the highest number of offenses with 58,441; (4) 151,517 adults were arrested in 2006 for both Part I and Part II offenses; (5) a total of 32,679 juveniles were arrested in 2006; and (6) 52,134 citywide traffic accidents occurred in 2006 with a total of 21,706 injuries. This statistical digest presents comprehensive information on Part I and Part II offenses and crimes, adult arrests, juvenile arrests, traffic accidents and enforcement, telephone calls received and units dispatched, personnel and equipment, and graphs for the Los Angeles Police Department for calendar year 2006.
