UNIFICATION OF STATE COURTS THROUGH BUDGETARY CONTROL IS DEFINED AND ANALYZED USING DATA COLLECTED FROM 1959 THROUGH AUGUST 1974.
Abstract
THE PROGRESS MADE IN INDIVIDUAL STATES TOWARD THIS END IS DISCUSSED ALONG WITH CURRENT PROVISIONS MADE BY ALL OF THE STATES TO FINANCE THEIR COURT SYSTEMS. THE AUTHOR PREDICTS THAT THERE WILL BE A GRADUAL STATE ASSUMPTION OF JUDICIAL EXPENSES THAT WILL OCCUR IN PHASES STRETCHED OVER SEVERAL YEARS AND THAT STATE FINANCING WILL BE APPLIED TO LOWER COURTS WHERE 90 PERCENT OF ALL CIVIL AND CRIMINAL CASES ARE DISPOSED OF.
