Abstract
Each State law relating to incest is summarized in terms of its definition of incest, the required characteristics of both offender and victim, and types and degrees of incestuous relationships. Some of the statutes outline defenses against the charge of incest and kinds of evidence that is omitted from the courtroom. Several laws specifically forbid marriage or extramarital sexual relations between certain relatives.
