Abstract
It summarizes the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act that covers property subject to forfeiture, proof required for forfeiture, procedure for implementing seizure and forfeiture, settlement of forfeiture, release of seized property, disposition of forfeited property, substitute property, and defense to forfeiture including innocent owner defense and lienholder. The scope and purpose of the civil RICO is defined and its procedures for complaint and affidavit, subpoenas, liens, and lis pendens are listed. Remedies available from RICO action and the disposition of forfeited property are also covered. Other procedures include those for Federal asset sharing, reimbursement for cost of investigation, and forfeiture of unclaimed evidence. Taxation of illegal drugs is discussed.
