Abstract
THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACADEMY PROVIDES AN 8-WEEK BASIC TRAINING PROGRAM FOR LOCAL POLICE PERSONNEL (TO HAVE BEEN INCREASED TO 10 WEEKS IN JANUARY 1978), A 12-WEEK PROGRAM FOR HIGHWAY PATROL OFFICERS, AND IN-SERVICE TRAINING IN SPECIAL SUBJECTS. THE ACADEMY ALSO PROVIDES FACILITIES FOR TRAINING PROGRAMS OPERATED BY SOUTH CAROLINA'S CORRECTIONS AND JUDICIAL AGENCIES. THE REPORT INCLUDES AN ORGANIZATIONAL CHART; ROSTERS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING COUNCIL MEMBERS AND ACADEMY ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL; A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE ACADEMY; A LISTING OF ACADEMY INSTRUCTORS AND THEIR CREDENTIALS; SUMMARIES OF TRAINING ACTIVITIES DURING THE REPORT PERIOD; A FINANCIAL REPORT; PLANS TO EXPAND THE ACADEMY'S FACILITIES; AND A DIAGRAM SHOWING THE LAYOUT OF THE FACILITIES.
