          Abstract
The book discusses definitions of pornography; the nature of the industry and its control by organized crime; pornography's victims and its perpetrators; civil libertarian, feminist, and other perspectives on pornography; and child pornography. The impact of pornography is portrayed through actual rape and murder cases linked to pornographic material. The victimization of women and children used in pornography is described in incidents of abuse, intimidation, and exploitation. Perpetrators of pornography are profiled, followed by descriptions of crimes linked to pornography, including wife abuse, prostitution, and incest. Also, the book examines legal efforts to control pornography through obscenity and civil rights law as well as other regulatory methods. Resources provided include model anti-pornography laws, standard definitions, and information on how to contact organizations active in the field. 2,600-item bibliography, subject index.
