THIS INTRODUCTORY TEXT TO CRIMINOLOGY DEALS PRIMARILY WITH CRIME CAUSATION AND PARTLY WITH SOCIETAL REACTIONS TO CRIME.
Abstract
THE TEXT TAKES THE POSITION THAT CRIME ETIOLOGY MUST IN SIGNIFICANT MEASURE BE VIEWED AS DEPENDENT UPON THE ACTIONS OF AGENTS AND AGENCIES OF SOCIAL CONTROL. THIS INTERACTIONIST PERSPECTIVE ATTEMPTS TO IDENTIFY SOME OF THE WAYS IN WHICH CORRECTIONAL REACTIONS TO CRIME RESULT IN ITS CAUSAL PROCESS.
