Abstract
THE AUTHORS SUGGEST THAT MUCH THAT HAPPENS IN CORRECTION OCCURS PRIMARILY TO MEET THE NEEDS OF CORRECTIONAL WORKERS AND ONLY SECONDARILY TO MEET THE NEEDS OF OFFENDERS. IN ALL LIKELIHOOD, INTERESTS OF CLIENTS WILL BE SAFEGUARDED AND MOST EFFECTIVELY SERVED IF THE SENSE OF WORTH AMONG CORRECTIONAL WORKERS IS ENHANCED. IT IS INDICATED THAT THE SOCIAL SYSTEM OF CORRECTIONAL WORKERS PROVIDES A POWERFUL MEANS TO THAT END.
