EVALUATION OF PROGRAMS OF AGENCY DEDICATED TO DECREASING DELINQUENCY BY MAXIMIZING FEELINGS OF SELF-WORTH AMONG YOUTH AND TO PROVIDING POSITIVE ALTERNATIVES TO YOUTH AFFECTING AGENCIES ON A COMMUNITY AND GOVERNMENTAL LEVEL.
Abstract
SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE AGENCY RANGE FROM A COURT DIVERSION PROGRAM, ADOLESCENT AND PARENT TRAINING GROUPS, THERAPY GROUPS, INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING, LEGAL ADVICE TO YOUTH, A RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT CENTER, SPECIAL CLASSES IN SCHOOLS, AND OFFERING CRISIS INTERVENTION TO YOUTH AS WELL AS CONSULTATION AND TRAINING SERVICES TO COUNTY AGENCIES. THIS EVALUATION FOCUSES ON THE COURT DIVERSION PROGRAM AND ANOTHER PROGRAM PROVIDING A TROUBLED YOUNG PERSON WITH AN INTER-PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP IN WHICH HE CAN EXPRESS HIMSELF WITH MINIMAL OR NO NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES. ALSO BRIEFLY DISCUSSED ARE PROGRAMS WHICH WERE STARTED AFTER THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE EVALUATION DESIGN.
