A DISCUSSION OF THE ELECTRONIC DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM OF THE FLORIDA BAR ASSOCIATION WHICH IS USED TO UPDATE MEMBERS' ADDRESSES AND PROVIDE UPDATED PRINTOUTS OF ADDRESSES FOR THE COURTS.
Abstract
TO SAVE THE EXPENSE OF LEASING COMPUTER EQUIPMENT, THE FLORIDA BAR UTILIZES A DATA PROCESSING SERVICE CENTER OF A TALLAHASSEE BANK. INITIALLY, THE INFORMATION STORED ON THE COMPUTER TAPE WILL INCLUDE ONLY THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF EACH MEMBER. OTHER INFORMATION PLANNED FOR THE SYSTEM INCLUDES MEMBER'S AFFILIATION, PARTICIPATION IN THE FLORIDA BAR'S INSURANCE PROGRAMS, HIS ADMISSION DATE, AND A RECORD OF DUES PAYMENT. LATER PLANS CALL FOR THE INCLUSION OF INFORMATION ON FIELD OF PRACTICE, LAW SCHOOL, SEX, BIRTH DATE, AND JUDICIAL CIRCUIT.
