THIS FILM DESCRIBES THE TECHNIQUES OF THE 'COUNT' MAN WHO DEFRAUDS UNSUSPECTING CASHIERS WITH COMPLICATED MONEY CHANGING SCHEMES.
Abstract
THIS FAST-PACED CON OPERATION BASICALLY INVOLVES THE PURCHASE OF A SMALL INEXPENSIVE ITEM WITH A DISPROPORTIONATELY LARGE BILL. WHEN THE CHANGE IS GIVEN, THE CON MAN SHAMS SURPRISE THAT HE HAS USED A LARGE BILL AND ASKS FOR ITS RETURN, BUT PURPOSELY GIVES THE TELLER OR CLERK ONE DOLLAR LESS THAN IS REQUIRED. WHEN THIS SHORTAGE IS DISCOVERED, THE CON MAN, WHO HAS ALREADY RECEIVED THE BILL HE WANTS, COUNTS THE TELLER'S MONEY AS HIS OWN, ADDS ANOTHER BILL, AND RECEIVES A LARGER ONE IN RETURN. IF THIS SOUNDS CONFUSING, DON'T BE ALARMED, BECAUSE EVEN THE MOST EXPERIENCED CASHIERS CAN BE TAKEN IN. GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THESE COUNT MEN ARE DESCRIBED, AS WELL AS PROPER CASH HANDLING PROCEDURES THAT WILL THWART THEM.
