A NATIONAL SURVEY OF THE FUNCTIONING OF JUVENILE INTAKE, FORWARDING A JUVENILE FOR COURT ADJUDICATION OR DIVERTING HIM FROM THE COURT'S JURISDICTION.
Abstract
ALTERNATIVES, ADJUSTMENT, INFORMAL PROBATION, AND CONSENT DECREES ARE EVALUATED IN RELATION TO THE DUE AS SET FORTH IN RE GAULT. REFERENCES BY INTAKE OFFICERS FROM STATE TO STATE AND THE POSSIBLE APPLICATION OF MODEL LEGISLATION TO RESOLVE THESE VARIATIONS ARE DISCUSSED. OBJECTIVES OF INTAKE ARE EXAMINED CRITICALLY WITH RESPECT TO A JUVENILE'S RIGHTS, SET FORTH IN RE GAULT. REFERENCES
