Abstract
THE MEANING ATTRIBUTED TO THE UNDERLYING REQUIREMENT NEGOTIATED AND UNNEGOTIATED GUILTY PLEAS BE VOLUNTARY IS INVESTIGATED, AND THE DIFFERING ATTITUDES OF THE ENGLISH AND AMERICAN COURTS TO THIS REQUIREMENT ARE COMPARED.
