The past several years have seen dramatic changes in the economics of data processing, resulting in almost unprecedented increases in distribution, connectivity, use, user choice, and user control.
Abstract
In the face of these increases, data security strategies which rely primarily upon the system's ability to control the behavior of its users are proving to be grossly inadequate. This article will discuss these changes and their effects, then examine various concepts, models, and tools which will be useful in meeting data security objectives in this dynamic environment.
