SEVERAL DESIGN RESPONSES ARE SUGGESTED TO CONTROL ACCESS AND PROXIMITY TO SCHOOL BUILDINGS AND TO LIMIT THE DAMAGEABILITY OF WALLS AND GROUND MATERIALS.
Abstract
FOUR CATEGORIES OF PROPERTY DAMAGE ARE IDENTIFIED: MALICIOUS VANDALISM, ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE, NON-MALICIOUS PROPERTY DAMAGE, AND HIDDEN MAINTENANCE DAMAGE. SUGGESTIONS ARE OFFERED ON MEANS TO PROTECT THE AREAS WHICH INVITE OR ARE VULNERABLE TO THESE KINDS OF DAMAGE - SCHOOL ROOFS, ENTRANCES, ROUGH PLAY PLACES, SCHOOL WALLS, AND OTHER SURFACES SUCH AS CEILINGS, WINDOWS, AND GROUND SURFACES.
