Abstract
THE AUTHOR OBSERVED AND PARTICIPATED IN GROUP SESSIONS DURING A FULL ONE-YEAR PERIOD. HE REPORTS ON THE PROCESS BY WHICH INMATES TEAR EACH OTHER APART PSYCHOLOGICALLY AND THEN REBUILD EACH OTHER AS ONE PHASE OF A REHABILITATIVE PROCEDURES WHICH EVENTUALLY INCLUDE SELF-OWNED AND OPERATED BUSINESSES AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS. A THEORETICAL APPENDIX WHICH EXPLAINS THE DELANCEY STREET APPROACH IS INCLUDED.
