ACTIVITIES OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT IN SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, DURING 1978 ARE SUMMARIZED IN THIS ANNUAL REPORT.
Abstract
STATISTICAL DATA ARE PRESENTED FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, AUTOMOBILE THEFT, BURGLARY, LARCENY, QUESTIONED DOCUMENTS (FORGED DOCUMENTS, INSUFFICIENT FUNDS, EMBEZZLEMENT, AND FRAUD), ROBBERY, SEX CRIMES, SUICIDES, PROPERTY VALUE, NARCOTIC CASES AND ARRESTS, HOMICIDES, ARRESTED PERSONS BY MOST SERIOUS CHARGE, OFFENSES CHARGES FOR ADULTS, OFFENSES CHARGES FOR JUVENILES, ACCIDENTS, TRAFFIC FATALITIES, AND TRAFFIC LAW ENFORCEMENT. CRIME COMPARISONS ARE MADE FOR 1977 AND 1978. CRIME TRENDS PER 100,000 POPULATION, CRIME CLEARANCE EFFORTS BY PERCENT CLEARED, AND CRIME ARRESTS ARE EXAMINED. ARREST TRENDS ARE ALSO EVALUATED, AS ARE THE ACTIVITIES OF POLICE OFFICERS. AN ORGANIZATIONAL CHART OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND A LIST OF PERSONNEL ARE INCLUDED. (DEP)
