Curricula outlines and course descriptions are presented which are used in training Royal Hong Kong police force recruits and in providing inservice training for experienced officers.
Abstract
The volume's first section lists objectives and strategies for training inspector, constable, and traffic warden recruits in basic areas. Section 2 covers command courses for senior officers and for junior, intermediate, and senior command. Section 3 is composed of an outline for station sergeant and sergeant promotion courses. The curriculum described in Section 4 is designed for use as a refresher course for constables and sergeants at various stages of their careers. The next three sections present a traffic training course curriculum, a detective training course outline, and a police cadet basic training course curriculum. The final section lists topics covered in miscellaneous courses and describes course characteristics. These miscellaneous courses include English language, rural patrol, general education, student instructor training, and police adventure training. Appendixes outline specialized training courses, such as marine training, driving, criminal intelligence, and public relations; courses conducted by outside agencies; overseas training attended by force members; and a training schedule.
