REPORT EXAMINES NEEDS OF ROANOKE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM AND CIRCUIT COURT WITH AN EYE TOWARD DEVELOPMENT OF AN AUTOMATED DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM.
Abstract
THE PROPOSED INFORMATION SYSTEM WILL FACILITATE THE SOLUTION OF MANY MANAGERIAL PROBLEMS, AND WILL COMMUNICATE ESSENTIAL INFORMATION TO JUDGES AND OTHERS IN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. THE INFORMATION SYSTEM COULD MONITOR BAIL ACTIVITIES, CASE PROCESSING, AND ATTORNEY SCHEDULES, AND COULD HANDLE INDEXING AND THE MAINTENANCE OF FILING. THE REPORT RECOMMENDED DEVELOPING A COURT SYSTEM ADVISORY BOARD, CREATING A POSITION OF COURT SYSTEM ANALYST, DEFINING THE SCOPE OF THE INFORMATION SYSTEM, AND DESIGNING ONE INFORMATION TO SERVE ALL CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCIES IN THE CITY....BS
