Abstract
THE IMPORTANCE OF PROMPT PLANNING IN LOCATING, EQUIPPING, AND ESTABLISHING ROADBLOCKS IS STRESSED. THE NATURE OF THE OFFENSES SHOULD BE CONSIDERED. OBSERVATION ROADBLOCKS, MOVING BLOCKS, FIXED ROADBLOCKS, AND A CIRCLE SYSTEM FOR BLOCKING A FUGITIVE WITHIN A GIVEN AREA ARE DESCRIBED. CAR AND OBSTACLE PLACEMENT, BACKUP SUPPORT PROCEDURES, AND SPECIAL TECHNIQUES FOR MULTI-LANE ROADWAYS ARE SUGGESTED.
