Abstract
IN-SERVICE TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT MUST BE AN IMPORTANT CONTINUOUS ACTIVITY IF PERSONNEL ARE TO BE PREPARED FOR ACHIEVING IMMEDIATE OCCUPATIONAL GOALS AND SATISFYING PLANNED CHANGES IN THE FUTURE. IT IS BELIEVED THAT AN EFFECTIVE PROGRAM, INVOLVING UNIVERSITY AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES CAN CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIETY'S RECOGNITION OF CORRECTIONS AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE COMMUNITY.
