Abstract
PROJECT ACTIVITIES IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS ARE DISCUSSED: EXPERIMENTS TO DETERMINE THE FEASIBILITY OF HOLOGRAPHIC ASSISTANCE TO FINGERPRINT IDENTIFICATION AND THE SATELLITE TRANSMISSION OF FINGERPRINT IMAGES: DEFINITION AND UPGRADING OF STATE IDENTIFICATION BUREAUS; AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROTOTYPE ELECTRO MECHANICAL AND OPTICAL FINGERPRINT TAKING DEVICES. ALSO OUTLINED ARE THE DEVELOPMENT AND FEASIBILITY STUDY OF A COMPUTERIZED CRIMINAL HISTORY; A SURVEY OF EXISTING LATENT FINGERPRINT IDENTIFICATION SYSTEMS AND THEIR TECHNOLOGY; THE DESIGN OF A CRIMINALISTICS LABORATORY INFORMATION SYSTEM; AND THE DEMONSTRATION OF AN AUTOMATED FINGERPRINT TECHNICAL SEARCH SYSTEM.
