THEORIES AND METHODS OF CRIMINOLOGY APPLIED TO THE ISSUE OF MOTORING OFFENSES.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR DEMONSTRATES THAT A SUBSTANTIAL NUMBER OF MOTORING OFFENSES ARE NOT ACCIDENTS. THE PAPER POINTS OUT THE NEED FOR AN EFFECTIVE TYPOLOGY IF CRIMINOLOGICAL STUDIES ARE TO PROVIDE USEFUL INSIGHTS INTO THE PROBLEMS SURROUNDING THE MOTORING OFFENDER. IT IS SHOWN THAT THESE OFFENDERS ARE NOT A UNIQUE AND HOMOGENEOUS GROUP APART FROM OTHER OFFENDERS. NUMEROUS CHARACTERISTICS OF MOTORING OFFENDERS ARE CONSIDERED AND A TYPOLOGY IS PROPOSED.
