REVIEW OF FIRST TWO PHASES OF THE REJIS CORRECTIONS INFORMATION PROJECT, WHICH INCLUDED PLAN DEVELOPMENT AND SYSTEM DESIGN.
Abstract
THE OBJECTIVES SPECIFIED IN THE PHASE I GRANT APPLICATION WERE TO IDENTIFY POTENTIAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS APPLICATIONS, TO DESCRIBE COSTS AND BENEFITS OF THESE APPLICATIONS, AND TO ASSIST IN SETTING PRIORITIES. THE SYSTEM AS DESCRIBED IN THE PHASE I FINAL REPORT HAS THREE FUNCTIONS - TO CONDUCT A CORRECTIONS RECORDS CHECK ON ALL ARRESTEES, TO COMPILE CASE HISTORIES OF ACTIVE CASES, AND TO SUPPLY MEMBER AGENCIES WITH CONTROL, MANAGEMENT, AND STATISTICAL INFORMATION. AN IMPLEMENTATION PLAN WAS PRESENTED WITH THE ESTIMATED FIRST YEAR DEVELOPMENT COSTS OF THE SYSTEM. IN PHASE II THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SYSTEM WAS TO BEGIN. PROJECT PERSONNEL HIRING AND TRAINING WERE COMPLETED, AND MODIFICATIONS WERE MADE IN THE IMPLEMENTATION PLAN. A STAGGERED APPROACH TOWARD MODULE DEVELOPMENT WAS CHOSEN. PROJECT STAFF WERE IN FREQUENT CONTACT WITH THE USER AGENCIES TO ASCERTAIN USER NEEDS. DATES FOR COMPLETION OF DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS ARE INDICATED, AS COMPLETION OF DESIGN COULD NOT BE ACCOMPLISHED DURING THE PERIOD OF THE GRANT. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED) SAINT LOUIS CITY AND COUNTY
