Abstract
THE INADEQUACIES OF PRESENT STATUTORY AND JUDICIAL CONTROLS ARE DISCUSSED AND SUGGESTIONS FOR AN ALTERNATIVE APPROACH ARE PRESENTED. THE AUTHOR PROPOSES MEANS OF CONGRESSIONAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE CONTROL OF THE SCOPE AND USES OF INFORMATION IN CRIME DATA BANKS AS WELL AS STANDARDS FOR DISSEMINATION OF AND ACCESS TO INFORMATION. PROVISIONS FOR ACCURACY AND EXPUNGEMENT OF RECORDS AND METHODS OF ENFORCING CIVIL AND CRIMINAL SANCTIONS FOR MISUSE OF INFORMATION ARE ALSO COVERED.
