ATTITUDES AND EMOTIONAL RESPONSES OF A SAMPLE OF 125 TEACHERS IN ITALY TO A NUMBER OF FORMS OF DEVIANT BEHAVIOUR.
Abstract
THE RESEARCH WAS DESIGNED TO ASCERTAIN THE DEGREE OF CONSENT ON MORAL AND TRADITIONAL NORMS (WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO SEXUAL BEHAVIOUR), DETERMINE THE PERCEIVED UTILITY OF SUCH SOCIAL CONTROL AGENTS AS TEACHERS, AND IDENTIFY POSSIBLE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PUBLIC OPINION AND THE ACTUAL OPERATION OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. RESULTS INDICATED THAT THERE IS CONSIDERABLE CONTROVERSY REGARDING CRIMES AGAINST PERSONS AND PROPERTY. RESULTS ALSO INDICATE CONSIDERABLE TOLERANCE IN THE FORMS OF SOCIAL RESPONSE SUGGESTED BY THE RESPONDENTS. IN MOST CASES EDUCATIONAL TREATMENT OUTSIDE THE INSTITUTIONAL SYSTEM WAS PROPOSED. CHARTS, TABLES, AND BIBLIOGRAPHY ARE INCLUDED. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED) --IN ITALIAN. SUMMARY IN ENGLISH...ELW
