Abstract
Following a review of trafficking trend indicators through 1988 for heroin, cocaine, chemical drugs, and cannabis, 1985-86 data on these drugs are presented. Data and information on heroin, cocaine, and marijuana cover abuse and availability trends, developments in source countries, and international/national trafficking patterns. Data and information on chemical drugs address abuse and availability trends as well as domestic production and international/national trafficking patterns. The report's section on drug money flow includes a review of the 1985-86 achievements of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Anti-drug Profiteering Program, which focuses on the dismantling of criminal organizations involved in drug trafficking. Other topics associated with drug money flow are the Canadian banking system and money laundering schemes and laws and enforcement measures at the international level. Information on major Canadian drug seizures in 1985 contains the month, place, drug, and amount seized. 45 figures.
